A billionaire came home two days early from his business trip. He expected his mansion to be empty. But when he opened his bedroom door at 7:30 in the morning, he was shocked.

His maid, Maria, was sleeping in his bed. His housekeeper was standing next to the bed.

At first he was very angry and wanted to fire them both. But then he noticed something strange. The house that was always spotless was now a complete mess.

He asked what was happening. The housekeeper started crying and said, “Sir, we were trying to protect you. Your son came home last night.”

His 5-year-old son had been very sick for the last two days. The nanny had left. Maria had stayed awake for two nights taking care of his son without sleeping.

She had finally fallen asleep for just 10 minutes in his bed after putting his son to sleep.

The billionaire didn’t say a word. He walked to his son’s room. His son was sleeping peacefully.

What the billionaire did next for his maid left everyone in tears. He increased her salary by 300%, gave her a month off, and paid for her own mother’s surgery which she could never afford.

He said, “You didn’t sleep in my bed, you protected my family while I was away. This house is yours too.”
